When we believe in Christ we become new creatures born of the Spirit, born from above. We become kingdom citizens. Although we retain our natural citizenship our heavenly citizenship takes precedence over our natural one. The laws of the kingdom supersede the earthly laws. Our allegiance is first and foremost to the King of kings.

All over this country people are stressed, worried about who is going to be the next president. Who should they vote for? That should not be the case for Christians. We are to put our hope on God alone, not on any man or woman. For this reason I am neither a republican nor a democrat. No elephant no donkey for me, only the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

God is not scratching his head or wringing his hands in heaven. He lives outside of time in eternity. He knows the end from the beginning. He is previous. He gave Nebuchadnezzar a pagan Babylonian king authority over all the kingdoms of the earth, and when this king became prideful and arrogant he was banished for 7 years in the wild to eat grass like a cow. When he finally learned who the Almighty was he got his mind and his kingdom back and wrote the fourth chapter of the book of Daniel.

God chose Cyrus another pagan king by name 400 years before his birth to rebuild his temple in Jerusalem with his own money. See Isaiah 45. “The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by The LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases.” Proverbs 21:1 (NLT).  God is able to use anyone He pleases to accomplish his purposes on earth. A truth confirmed by Daniel 2:20-22. “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and set up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies in the darkness, though he is surrounded by light.

Amos 3:7 says that God does not do anything without telling His prophets first. There have been many prophetic words about God bringing up a David who will lead this country in prosperity for 7 years. There is also another word about God blowing his trumpet to scatter political spirits. What should we do as Christians? Paul gave us the answer in 1 Timothy: “Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:2 ( NLT). Vote the bible, let the peace of God lead you. And last not least keep your eyes on Jesus The King of kings.
