There is no better time to talk about love than the season we are in. December 25th is fast approaching when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Love took on flesh, put aside his godly attributes and came down to save us from our sins and demonstrate to us how to live as children of the Most High God. An act of pure love from a pure God. For God love is action. He loved, He gave.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. ” John 3:16 (NLT)
Love is so important to God that it’s mentioned in every book of the bible. When asked which was the most important commandment, Jesus replied:
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” A second is equally important: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NLT)
Take a moment from your celebration to thank The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit for their perfect love and their perfect plan. Love on those around you, a smile, a kind word a meal or a loaded handshake. Do whatever you can to show them Jesus in you the reason for the season.
God bless you, Merry Christmas.
