While in Costa Rica, I had a chance to visit the Waterfall Gardens which also house some wild life. I stood in awe observing some beautiful exotic birds flying around from tree to tree . They seemed happy, content with their lives. They were unaware that they were caged. That in fact their freedom was very limited. They were well cared for, everything was provided for them. Although the doors were open, they had a heavy metal curtains and metal fence all around and covering the roof. Even though the place looked like a natural habitat with trees and other birds, it was a cage designed to keep them in.
This one particular bird caught my eye. He seems to be the happiest one in the bunch. As watched his antics, I heard The Holy Spirit say:” My children in the world are just like these birds,. They think they are free and don’t need my Son to save them because they can do whatever they want, whenever they want. Because they have money, they are not sick in their bodies. all is well. They don’t want or need God to tell them what to do. They are unaware that like these birds, their freedom is only an illusion. They can only go so far until it all come crashing down or worse they die without making a decision for Christ, and wake up in hell”.
True freedom is having a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, staying connected to Him through his word which is the Bible. Below are three key scriptures to enter into a relationship with Jesus. John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10 and John 8:36.
” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ” John 3:16 NIV
” If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. ” Romans 10:9-10 NIV
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 NIV
Let Jesus set you free today, invite Him into your heart.
