2017 was definitely a year of positioning for me. The Lord not only re-calibrated me, but He promoted me. Now I feel that I have been synchronized and syncopated with heaven. I began praying Lord do a work in me and make me into the woman you created me to be and waited for his instructions. On December 13, 2017 while praying, The Lord instructed me: “Be intentional.” I knew from my experience with The Lord to ask questions to keep the conversation going. He elaborated on what I was to be intentional about over the course of a few weeks.
Today I will talk about the very first item, the most important on the list. Absolute surrender. What does absolute surrender look like for me you may ask? Dying to myself. Laying down my opinions, my calling, my dreams, my expectations and my agenda. Giving up my right to be right. Giving up my right to be offended. So excusing myself from conversations that may defile the purity of my heart by sowing seeds of bitterness has become my new normal. Abstaining for doing good that is not God, my new way of life. I want to get to the place where I only do what The Father is doing, only say what He is saying and only go where He leads me. I want to obey His voice no matter the cost.
I fervently pray theses prayers over myself throughout the day: Lord Jesus I surrender all to you today. Forgive my sins, purify my heart. Form Christ in me. Thank you for great grace to manifest the fruits of your Spirit today. Help me to crucify my flesh, discipline my soul and guard my gates. Help me Lord to be the perfect conduit for your Holy Spirit today. Help me to not be offended and not to offend anyone. Help me to walk in love.
It is possible to live a life of surrender to God. Jesus came to earth to demonstrate such a life. If you want to live a life of surrender to God, ask Him. His grace empower you to do the impossible in spite of your inadequacies. Listen to James, just ask. We can’t have what we don’t ask for.
