Several years ago I got a revelation while reading chapter 1 from the book of John. I finally understood, Jesus was the Word of God made flesh who came to live among mankind (John 1:14). He is the incorruptible seed by which we are saved, (1 Peter 1:23). We are guaranteed a harvest every-time we sow the seed of the word of God in faith. As believers in Christ, we have sixty six bags of seeds at our disposal. Thirty nine in the Old Testament and twenty seven in The New Testament and together they are the “Holy Bible”. Our instructions from Father God to live a victorious life on this planet. The Old Testament is The New Testament hidden and The New Testament is The Old Testament revealed. My prayer life changed dramatically after I read “The Secret Power of Speaking God’s Word” by Joyce Meyer. I began praying God’s word back to Him and I began to receive exactly what I prayed for.
The Lord impressed upon me in this season the importance of not only reading his word, but confessing, meditating and memorizing it. As Christians we should honor and have faith in the word of God, the foundation of our faith. We should not take away or add anything to the word of God. The word of God is even more relevant today because many words that were foretold in the Bible have come to pass in our lifetime. We are indeed in the last days when even the elects are deceived by demonic teachings strait out of the pits of hell. We can not have the Word without the Spirit. The word by itself is nothing but religion, all talk and no manifestation of the power of God. And manifestations without the word will most assuredly lead to deception, false signs and wonders. Our victory over the enemy is assured if we remain rooted in the love of God and grounded in his word.
Let’s explore twelve truths about the word of God. 1- The word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12). 2- The word of God always does what is says (Isaiah 55:11). 3- You can send the word no matter the distance (Psalm 107:20). 4- All scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16). 5- The word of God protect your feet from the snares of the enemy (Psalm 119:105). 6- You are blessed when you hear and obey the word of God (Luke 11:28). 7- The word of God is a firm foundation (Matthew 7:24). 8- The word of God is a powerful weapon against Satan (Matthew 4:4). 9- The word of God is true (Psalm 119:160). 10- The word of God set you free (John 8:31). 11- The word of God endures forever (Isaiah 40:8). 12- God places his word above his name (Psalm 138:2).
Most importantly Jesus said: “If you love me, obey my word” (John 14:23). My prayer today is that The Lord would give us a supernatural hunger for his word. That He would open our eyes to see wonders in his word. Open our minds to understand his word. Transform our hearts into good soil to receive the seed of his word so that it would produce a great harvest in our lives.
