I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that African Americans are being promoted into positions of power, or their achievement being highlighted in this season. God is up to something. What I am hearing is “Freedom to Build, Restoration”. I was somewhat baffled until I came across an article about June 19, 1965 or Freedom Day.

Are we really free? The freedom that men give come with so many strings attached. Thus you can only live this side of town, do this job, make this much money and so forth. But the Bible says in John 8:38: ” Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” We as a people must come to a place of absolute surrender and admit to God we are wrong. We cannot continue this journey in our own strength and wisdom. we must repent for the many idols we have lifted up before Him. The man made ideologies that have replaced His word, the strongholds of tradition and religion that have kept us bound in our mind. Then and only then can restoration take place.

God wants to restore us to His original intent. We were created to be watchmen on the wall. The wall of prayer and intercession, to see the danger ahead and sound the alarm. To watch and see what The Lord is saying, Habakkuk 2:1. In The Power of Purpose, Dr. Myles Monroe declared that: ” God created the black race to be the eyes of the church”. The walls have broken down. The godly grandmothers who watched and prayed day and night are either dead or in long term care facilities out of their minds with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s sometimes all three. That is why the enemy has had free reign to push his demonic agenda, attacked our marriages, children, finances and even our health.

We have a unique window of opportunity to say yes to God and start rebuilding the wall and take our place. We can use the same blueprint as Nehemiah, each family build the wall around them until there is no breech left. By doing so, we will build a spiritual wall around our country and from that place of authority bind the works of darkness and loose the glorious light of Jesus Christ.
